Scholarship

The main purpose of Penn State University is to provide students with an education that will help them to succeed in life. Alpha Gamma Rho never loses sight of this. We provide our members with the environment and encouragement to excel academically.

Our chapter is consistently holds one of the top 10 cumulative GPAs in the Inter Fraternity Council, placing 8th out of 48 this past year. Our cumulative GPA (3.22) also puts us above the All-Greek (2.96), the All-Mens (3.02), and All-University (3.15) Averages.

Gamma boasts of numerous Dean’s List and Scholarship award winners each semester. With many of our members pursuing a broad range of degrees, from Agriculture to Engineering, academics is an area that we pride ourselves in, and we make every effort to recruit new members to carry on our academic excellence.

Brotherhood Scholarships

We believe that any Brother at Alpha Gamma Rho who excels in school should be rewarded for their hard work and effort. Therefore we offer scholarship awards each semester to any Brother who meets the following criteria:

Semesterly Scholarships

Semester GPA Scholarship

3.4-3.7 $500

3.71-4.0 $1000

*Must take at least 14 Credits

We also offer:

Hallowell Family Scholarship: $1000/year - This award is eligible to any freshmen enrolled in the College of Agricultural Sciences who has the highest GPA and lives in the fraternity house.

Most Improved GPA: $250/semester - This award is given to the brother who has shown the most academic improvement from the previous semester.

Newton Comly Memorial Scholarship: $250/year- This award is eligible to any brother whose aggressive effort makes the house a better place for every man living there, i.e. the brother who would drop anything he was doing to help out a brother in need.

Rockwell Memorial Scholarship: $250/year- This award is eligible to the brother with the best GPA, and is the best role model for Leadership in the fraternity and college.
